gebr.silvestri is a Amsterdam-based design studio. We – Adrian Silvestri-Chyle and Stefan Silvestri – work as art directors and designers in two and three dimensions. We produce visual solutions in media ranging from print to online to 3D. Our projects range from brand identities and books through products to exhibition and stage design.
Following our five-year training in two- and three-dimensional design at Schule für Gestaltung St. Gallen and at Globus in St. Gallen in our native Switzerland, we both studied graphic design at Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Our design studio gebr.silvestri has been in business since 1994.
We have been giving workshops in typography and the language of images at Merz Akademie in Stuttgart since 1996 and teaching at Design Academy Eindhoven since 2004. In the past we gave workshops at Ecole des Beaux Arts in Mulhouse (1998–1999) and we taught at St Joost Akademie in Breda (2002–2004).

2018Exhibition architecture, website and promotional materials
The exhibition ‘I will speak, I will speak!’ told the remarkable stories of many different people from all five continents, all of whom are living with HIV. Visitors were touched and impressed by the stories they encountered there in the professional multi-media presentation.
Atlas2018 asked us to design the exhibition architecture for this unique event, along with promotional materials such as a leaflet, a poster and the website. In the spacious, museum-like setting of Amsterdam’s Beurs van Berlage we created a circular exhibition form that naturally drew visitors into the central area, which functioned as a meeting place. Films were projected on full-height screens surrounding the centre area, and display walls around the edges contained text and images that supported the various stories. Volunteers guided the visitors through the exhibition, listening to the visitors’ own stories as they went along.
