In 2000, De Oude Warande in Tilburg proved highly suitable as location and inspiration for contemporary art. The success of the international exhibition ‘Lustwarande’ [Pleasure-Garden], originally staged as a one time refurbishment of the Baroque garden, asked for continuation. Since then editions have taken place every four years. With each edition a state of the art in recent developments in international sculpture was presented.
Since 2015 Lustwarande – Platform for Contemporary Sculpture stages exhibitions at this venue on an annual basis, every four years a survey of recent international developments, in the years in between smaller, thematic exhibitions.
