Commemorative jubilee book

Over the years, German printed floor-covering manufacturer Vorwerk has often asked famous artists and designers to create special designs for the company’s products. To mark its 125th anniversary, Vorwerk asked Ulf Moritz to design a commemorative book. Moritz approached us to collaborate with him in doing so. The result, ‘Zeit/Time Raum/Space’, was published in limited German/English and German/French editions for Vorwerk’s customers and business associates.

In designing the book, we were given the freedom to play with the theme of time and space. We chose to use different paper for each chapter. In combination with special printing techniques like high-gloss spot UV and braille embossing, we used many different types of paper: Heaven 42 soft matt, Lessebo Design 1.3 170 GSM, Hello Gloss 170 GSM, EOS 2.0 90 GSM, Munken Polar 150 GSM, Lessebo Design Smooth 100 GSM, Lessebo Smooth White 150 GSM, Conqueror Concept Ice Blue 120 GSM, Freelife Vellum 170 GSM and Ziegler 40 GSM. For the front of the cover we had a special lenticular foil made on which we printed the design that Tord Boontje made especially for Vorwerk’s 125th anniversary.
