2015
Promotional materials
Dutch rap act De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig rose to fame with their 2005 hit ‘Watskeburt?!’ [What’s happened?!]. Their beats reveal a strong influence from electronic music. To celebrate their successful first decade in 2015, the band organised an anniversary concert ‘Viering van het super decennium’ [Celebrating the super decade] and offered a boxed set with their studio albums. They asked us to design all the publicity materials for the band’s tenth anniversary event.
In our design, the Roman numeral ‘X’ serves as the primary eye catcher. An exploding star-like polygon in transparent yellow lies across the ‘X’, reinforcing and further stretching it. The design is built up of different transparent layers of bright magenta, yellow and cyan. The colours blend together in their transparency, and the typography, which in some layers has been left blank, creates a negative photographic effect.
