gebr.silvestri is a Amsterdam-based design studio. We – Adrian Silvestri-Chyle and Stefan Silvestri – work as art directors and designers in two and three dimensions. We produce visual solutions in media ranging from print to online to 3D. Our projects range from brand identities and books through products to exhibition and stage design.
Following our five-year training in two- and three-dimensional design at Schule für Gestaltung St. Gallen and at Globus in St. Gallen in our native Switzerland, we both studied graphic design at Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Our design studio gebr.silvestri has been in business since 1994.
We have been giving workshops in typography and the language of images at Merz Akademie in Stuttgart since 1996 and teaching at Design Academy Eindhoven since 2004. In the past we gave workshops at Ecole des Beaux Arts in Mulhouse (1998–1999) and we taught at St Joost Akademie in Breda (2002–2004).

2011Exhibition catalogue (Dutch), poster and invitation (Dutch & English)
Evert van Straaten served as the Kröller-Müller Museum’s director from 1990 to 2012. His farewell exhibition, titled ‘Verlangen naar volmaaktheid’ / ‘Longing for perfection’, filled the entire museum – as well as the sculpture garden outside – with an overview of the various works procured during his 21-year directorship. In addition, film and video works by Christiaan Bastiaans, Willie Doherty, Jan van de Pavert, Hetty Huisman and Jan Fabre were screened in a tent complex on a site adjacent to the museum.
In connection with this special exhibition, the museum asked us to design a catalogue in Dutch. In ‘Verlangen naar volmaaktheid’, Van Straaten shares how and why he chose each of the pieces he acquired for the museum during his tenure as director. The catalogue also comes with a DVD that contains images of each of those works.
The 224-page catalogue is printed in full colour on Lessebo Design Smooth white 150 GSM paper. A poster-size folded jacket covers the linen hardcover volume, which has transparent embossing on the back. The front of the jacket has a full-colour, high-gloss spot UV coating.
